May Lake Loop

Distance:   60 km

Suggested Time:   3 hours or more for photo opportunities

Rating:   Easy - Close to City Amenities

Looking to escape the city for a few hours or just to get used to your sled before you head out on an adventure?  The May Lake Loop is a great way to start.  This loop is actually Ontario's first and possibly only trail built by an ATV club for shared use with snowmobiles.  That doesn't mean that ATV use is permitted on the trails in the winter.  It simply means that the Elliot lake ATV Club funded this trail and lets snowmobiles use it when the snow arrives.

This loop really is a scenic one.  In just a short trip, the views of rock faces, bridges over the edge of lakes and some of the views over the City of Elliot Lake make this a trail worth trying.  With all of the picture breaks, the trip may just end up being a full day adventure without being more than a few kilometres from the services offered in Elliot Lake.
